Tip Cleaner for all chamber models
Graco Fusion AP Bad Fan Pattern Troubleshooting
Is the spray pattern shaped like a “C”?
A C-shaped spray pattern usually indicates that one of the mix chamber’s main ports is partially plugged. Material buildup on the air cap can also distort the fan pattern.
Inspect and clean the mix chamber ports and air cap. The SPF Depot Tip Cleaner Set is designed to clean these openings without damaging the chamber. [Insert product link here.]
Always shut down the equipment, relieve fluid pressure and follow the gun manufacturer’s cleaning procedure before removing or cleaning components.
Check the spray pressure
Low pressure can also produce a weak or poorly developed fan pattern. Pressure settings below approximately 1,000 psi may not produce as clean a pattern as a setting near 1,250 psi.
Bed-liner polyurea is commonly sprayed around 1,500 psi. However, always use the temperature and pressure range published by the chemical manufacturer for the specific foam or coating being sprayed.
If increasing the pressure does not correct the pattern, inspect the chamber ports and air cap before replacing gun components.
